Time to fiesta! Have you been to Tortillas yet? It’s one of the new concepts added to campus in September 2015 at Sid’s Cafe, replacing Sultan’s and Pizza Pizza in the renovation. Much like the other new concepts, it offers delicious meals that can be customized to your heart’s content!

Tortillas offers you a plethora of options. You can get burritos, burrito bowls, taco salad and two sizes of nachos. For your fillings, you can choose from slow cooked barbacoa beef or pork, chipotle adobe chicken, or fajita vegetables (red and green peppers, red onions, and mushrooms). Add in some rice, beans, salsa, cheese, lettuce, and sour cream, and you’ve got yourself a real meal.

I myself got a burrito bowl with slow cooked barbacoa pork (though I am also a fan of the chipotle adobo chicken). I added all the toppings, sans guacamole (offered for $1.00 extra, but I’m just not a fan). The container you get is huge, and the whole thing can fill you up for hours, so you have been warned…you may end up skipping dinner. I’ve been to Tortillas several times since it opened in September, and have yet to be disappointed. The food is fast, great for those lunch rushes where you don’t want to wait for your noodles or your burger. It’s easy to see why it became pretty popular right off the bat, as can be seen in the photo above of students enjoying Tortillas burrito bowls and nachos during our Field to Fork event in late September.

If you haven’t already, head to Tortillas for your lunch-time fiesta and grab yourself a burrito bowl or taco salad!
