The Local Food Challenge is designed to raise awareness of local food issues and increase the number of local food options on campus.

An ongoing series of food-centric events such as the immensely popular Field to Fork festival gave the university community a chance to get involved in the campaign and discover how delicious local food can be.

To support the endeavor, University of Toronto Food Services established a direct relationship with several Ontario farmers to supply the campus dining halls directly, laying the foundation for an amicable and mutually beneficial exchange.

We also created campus-wide Local Food standards which increase awareness of the local food options available to consumers while ensuring that clearly defined labeling practices are maintained across the St. George campus.
