This month’s featured location is The Cube! The Cube is nestled on the first floor of the Bahen Centre, on St. George St. From beef patties to paninis and salads to sandwiches, this place is a great place to grab a quick lunch or stock up on snacks before class. It’s open later than most locations on campus, often until 8:00 p.m., so it’s great for a late night class.
This Food Service location was also recently renovated which gave the environment a very modern yet comfortable feel. It really suits the nature of the Bahen Centre as a place of innovative engineers. The large windows give the space this openness that I found was conducive to studying.
Like a tidal wave, students and staff flood The Cube for lunch and then flow out but for the most part you won’t be waiting longer than the time it takes to toast your panini. It’s convenient for those with classes in the Bahen Centre. On top of that, the direct connection between the Koffler Centre and the Bahen Centre makes it easy to grab a bite to eat if you’ve stopped by the bookstore, or any of the centres in the Koffler building.
The salads are wonderfully refreshing after a long, three hour class. What’s great about the salad bar is that you can make your own! I can put as much protein or dressing as I want, depending on how healthy I feel like being that day.
In addition, there are different sandwiches every week which is great for keeping the menu exciting. There is also a salad bar menu that changes weekly, posted on Fridays. Click here to check out this week’s menu!
So if you happen to be around for a class, stop by The Cube and try a salad, sandwich, or anything else that catches your eye. The hours of operation for The Cube are Monday to Thursday 8:00 am to 8:00 pm and Fridays 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
