|Chef Trish is an Executive Sous Chef here at UTSG. She attended culinary school at George Brown College and then did an apprenticeship at the Royal York Hotel.
She started cooking when she was in high school and did a co-op placement in a restaurant. She has worked as an apprentice, baker, entremetier, butcher, saucier and Chef. She has worked abroad in London, England and Scotland, and then came back to Toronto and worked for Chef Jamie Kennedy. She likes working at U of T because she gets to work with a wide range of people and has daily, amazing opportunities to affect someone’s day in a positive way.
Her philosophy on food is that simple food is the best food when made with care, and to always use kosher salt! Make sure to check out her Nana’s wonderful butter tart recipe that she has shared with us this month!
