Bannock

Directions

1In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

2Make a well in the center, and pour in the milk and water.

3Toss with a fork until it is a soft, slightly sticky dough.

4On a floured surface, press into 8" circles.

5Heat oil in a heavy skillet over medium heat.

6Fry the dough, turning once, about 8 minutes, until puffed and golden.

7Cut into 10 pieces to serve.

1/2 cup milk

1/2 cup water

Vegetable oil, for frying
