1Prepare the coleslaw vegetables, and combine all the ingredients in a large bowl.
2Mix well, and set aside.
3Steam your franks: Add 1 inch of water to the bottom of a skillet, add your hot dogs, and cover with a tight-fitting lid.
4Cook on high heat and add more water if you run out of steam before the hot dogs are fully cooked. Alternatively, use a steamer basket.
5Meanwhile, toast the hot dog buns if desired.
6Place the cooked franks in the hot dog buns, top with mustard, a handful of diced onions, and coleslaw.
7Serve and enjoy.
